Homes for Bolton is now the place to access housing related services in Bolton. The new name is to make it easier for anyone wanting to rent in Bolton or for those who already rent, are a landlord or have their own property but who need housing advice or to access homeless services.
So Homes for Bolton will be the name to remember if you want to find a new home to rent from the Council or housing partners which includes Bolton at Home as well as other Housing Associations and Social Landlords. Whilst the name has changed the services remain the same - new properties will still be advertised weekly on the Find a Home pages on this website.
THINGS ARE CHANGING
From the 2nd of September the way in which available properties can be viewed will be changing. Details of available properties will be accessible via documents within the website.
The date of new adverts will remain the same, with new details being updated on the website each Tuesday at 4pm.
You will still be able to place an expression online or by contacting the Homes for Bolton team tel: 01204 335811.
Full property adverts will still be available at the Housing Options Centre, Town Hall one-stop-shop, all housing offices as well as other outlets across the borough.
Any customers requiring support in accessing the advert can contact Homes for Bolton direct for further advice.
We will continue to provide updates via the website and adverts each week.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - HOUSEHOLD CRITERIA
To help deal with the impact of Welfare Reform Homes for Bolton partner landlords may restrict certain type and size of properties by household make-up.
The Housing Benefit criteria allow one bedroom for:
- every adult couple (married or unmarried)
- any other adult aged 16 or over
- any two children of the same sex aged under 16
- any two children aged under 10
- any other child, (other than a foster child or child whose main home is elsewhere)
- a carer (or team of carers) who do not live with you but provide you or your partner with overnight care
Homes for Bolton partner landlords will usually provide a preference for households who meet the size criteria and who will not under-occupy the property.
However, those meeting the initial criteria but likely to under-occupy can still apply. You will be assessed on the basis of overall demand for the property, any transition in household composition, affordability and any other particular needs.
If you require further information regarding the size criteria of properties please contact the individual partner landlord direct.
For further information regarding changes to housing benefit please visit www.bolton.gov.uk.
HOMES FOR BOLTON ALLOCATIONS POLICY
Bolton Council, with its Bolton Community Homes partner landlords, has updated the Homes for Bolton Allocations Policy. This brings the written policy in line with changes to legal responsibilities following the transfer of housing stock to Bolton at Home from the council. A number of elements that no longer affect the council have been removed.
The updated documents can be viewed within the 'Policy and Development' section of this site.
