Need some housing advice?

Advice and assistance with housing issues for residents in the Bolton borough. We are available by telephone from 9am to 5pm daily or call in to see us during the times in the Contact us panel below.
 
We can give you advice and assistance on a variety of housing issues including:

• Renting accommodation from Private Landlords, Housing Associations and the local Council 
• Housing Benefits - advice on entitlement and assistance with queries 
• Relationship Breakdown - housing options 
• Advice to all tenants and Private Landlords in relation to Security of Tenure, Rights and Obligations, Rent, Harassment, Threat of Eviction, Repairs, Legal Procedure for seeking Possession 
• Homelessness - advice on your rights and different housing options 
• Referral to certain temporary accommodation schemes 
• Bolton Bond Board Scheme - A non-cash Deposit Guarantee scheme to help people who are homeless and on a low income or benefits, to secure private rented accommodation  

Important changes to Housing Advice times of operation

Effective as from Monday 7th July 2008
 
Due to the growing demand on the Housing Advice Service we have decided to review the way in which we offer our service to customers.
 
With this in mind we are looking to pilot a day of appointments in addition to our drop-in service as follows:
 
DROP IN - 9.00 am - 12.00 noon
 
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
 
Wednesday - will predominantly be morning and afternoon appointments by prior arrangement and between 9am to 12noon emergency presentations and a triage service will be offered.
 
Please note:
 
The Home Ownership section ARE NOT available on a Wednesday either in person or by phone
 
It is our intention to review these arrangements again in 3 months time to measure the success of these changes and we will, of course, let you know how we intend to proceed.
