Understanding of Bolton's housing requirements is gained in a number of ways including specific pieces of research, to on going consultation with service users and the production of reviews and weekly housing updates.

In order to develop solutions to housing issues there are a number of partnerships and joint working approaches in place. The most important overarching housing partnership is Bolton Community Homes which works closely with Bolton Council's Strategic Housing Services Department.
